Rudranath

Lord Shiva is revered here as "Neelkanth Mahadev" at a natural rock temple at 2,286 meters above sea level, surrounded by rhododendron woods and alpine meadows. He is thought to have raised his face at this point. The area surrounding the temple is filled with holy kunds (pools), including Surya Kund, Chandra Kund, Tara Kund, and Mana Kund. Numerous hikes can be taken to reach this temple, and the majority of them begin in Gopeshwar village. You may reach this temple after a 5-kilometer vehicle trip to Sagar Village and a subsequent 20-kilometer hike. There is also a 17-km uphill walk that begins with a 3-km road trip to Gangolgaon. An other route from Gopeshwar is a 13-km journey to Mandal, followed by a 6-km hike to the Anasuya Devi shrine and a further 20-km to the destination.

Among the Panch Kedar temples, the Rudranath temple is the most difficult to reach. Nanda Devi, Trishul, and Nanda Ghunti are Himalayan peaks that further enhance Rudranath's beauty.
